Halo 3 Team at MLG USA Day 1
Posted by: ampzz
We see our team going over to Major League Gaming Pro Circuit hosted in Columbus, Ohio for this weekend June 4th-6th. Setting their eyes for a historical moment for being the first Australian team ever to play in the states were seeded 128th for the event.
Winner’s Bracket Round 1, first step for Frenetic Array into the international gaming scene sees them against Scratch & Sniff, unfortunately they were a no show.
Winner’s Bracket Round 2 sees our boys taking on Yellow Dragons, the #1 seeded AM team; for a 2-0 victory, first close game for the day with a CTF match resulting in 3-2 fray`s way.
The interest in our Halo team was gaining even more attention from the American community as they showed a dominant presence and joined Power as only the second team outside of America progressing through for a position in the Championship Winners Bracket.
Winner’s Bracket Round 3, pitted against Last Minute Squad brings out the best in Benno as he goes 24-14-10 for a dominant 5-1 Heretic CTF victory and taking the game out quickly for 2-0 overall.
Now known as the Australian sensation the team takes to round 4 taking Skyline out, producing yet another 2-0 sweep with Heff going large in the Heretic TS with 18-11-7, the team took it out 50-44.
Frenetic Array now moving into the WBR5 set to verse Second Nature, proving to be too strong our boys yet again labelled themselves as an unstoppable force as they took them out in straight sets 2-0. Narrows TS sees Benno displaying another high level of performance yet again as he went 15-11-5 with the team taking that match out 50-26.
Advancing onto the Winner’s Bracket Round 6, we see our team drop 50-41 Construct TS against Fire Breathin’ Franks and then proceed to devour them on Heretic CTF 5-0. Massive game for the boys as they showed their dominance throughout the day, securing them a place in the Championship Winners Bracket 4v4.
We wish the Halo 3 team all the best for the rest of the competition, there’s nothing better than receiving the recognition which they are now our Australian Halo community but also support from other gamers including those from PC and the American community has finally had to take a step back and realise that Australia is there to make it known that we can participate at the same level as they can.
