Gigabyte Electronic Sports Championships - League of Legends

The Gigabyte eSports Championship, an invitational event run by Team Immunity, will host a LAN event starting 10:00a.m. July 9. The tournament will feature 8 teams , with some big names of the Australian scene such as Frenetic Array,Avant.Ttand Sequential Gaming who will compete for gaming gear provided by Steelseriesas well as a $2000 cash prize pool. 

 

 

This weekend a local Melbourne university will be the “proving grounds” for Aussie League of Legends teams. The event will be held at the Monash University Clayton Campus where top tier   Australian League of Legends will be played and awesome prizes will be won. 

 

The tournament will be played as two groups of four (total 8 teams) with the top two teams of each group progressing onto a best of three, and the number of available bans will be as per usual of six as each team will be allowed three bans per round. The tournament will also be live-streamed and on event spectating will be free! 

 

 

 

Team in the spotlight: 

Frenetic Array – With this team not dropping a tournament win in the past 8 months, pressure will be on the players to replicate their domination of the Australian scene. 

 

 

Dark Horses:  

SEQUENTIAL Gaming – With the recent departure HamiltonMattress, little is known of how strong their new line up will become. Consisting of solid players of every role, this team will be ready to cause an upset.  

 

Rising stars: 

AvantGarde – Being their first ever major LAN event together, this team is here to prove they are by no means subpar to the big boys. Pressure will be on for the 5 to perform on the day and we this will be an amazing spectacle.
