The Mwave tournament is the first of its kind. A series of 4, open to all, and with the prestigious prize of versing Team Dignitas at the end. Tournament 1 saw many up and coming teams participate. 32 entered on the 2nd of June and only 2 remained by day 2. Frenetic Array and Teknicity E-Sports, a newly formed team with loads of talent and game knowledge.
Fray being in the middle of the exam period, and cold from lack of practise were taken by surprise in the quarter finals losing 1-2 to go to the losers bracket. From there smashing Sequential Gaming in the semi-finals to again face Teknicity in the grand finals with a 0-1 disadvantage coming from losers. Our first game was close seeing us to a 1-1 draw in the best of 3. Unfortunately Australia’s connection to the Riot servers fell apart so we were forced to reschedule the final game for the 15th of June. That gave the team time to gather their thoughts and rally together in order to prepare. The final match was a clear display of adaptation to the other teams playstyle which is one of our strong points. Every play that was made against us was anticipated and countered giving us an early advantage which we pushed right through the game. Some nice initiates by Raydere, follow-ups by Domo, domination by Heavenz and smart play by S2IU saw us secure first place in the tournament.
