i46 Announce Minimum £2.5k Tournament

The ever popular Insomnia LAN Festival is back with vengeance unveiling a £2,500 minimum prize pot for their 2012 summer event. Up until June 6th you can get a massive 20% off the cost of your ticket, so act quickly before costs rise!

The Insomnia LAN series has been the biggest contributor to the UK Call of Duty scene supporting the game ever since it's initial release back in 2007, but with recent attendance rates slipping the future of the tournament was on the line. The previous event during early May saw just 13 teams compete within CoD4, a massive drop from last summer's 36 despite big names such as TCM-Gaming and adroits in attendance.

Despite recent doom and gloom the staff over at Multiplay have decided to invest a great deal of faith into our community, going ahead with their summer edition of the Call of Duty 4 tournament, doubling the minimum prize pot up to a massive £2,500. If you decide to act quickly (before 6PM BST 6th June) you will be able to snag yourself a 20% discount, bringing the cost of the ticket down to £73.60, which is pretty good value if you take into account the exhibitions, on-stage eSports entertainment and all the various other activities that take part during the weekend.

Unfortunately for all international attendees there will be no turn up and play this time around, but monitor rental is an option for all those who are struggling to get their gear to the event. If you are travelling from oversees I recommend you take a peek at the TEK9 travel guide, which despite being slightly outdated still offer's some good advice on how to reach the venue.

So what's stopping you from attending a weekend full of eSports, exhibitions and general gaming merriment? For more information on the event click here.
