Qnatek Summer Battle 2012 Announced

Today we got word that the up and coming LAN organizers of Project Qnatek have decided to venture into CoD4 in their next installment which takes place in just two months time. The event will be called the Qnatek Summer Battle 2012 and will be held in the Ukrainian capital of Kiev. The Kiev Cybersport Arena will be the battleground for any team willing to make the trip over the weekend of the 7th to the 8th July.

The sign-ups for the event have already opened and the relevant links will be made available at the bottom of the page. The company behind this LAN have also dropped the ticket price from that of a regular turn up and play (TUP) event with five players and single manager only having to pay €200 to guarentee their spot in the competition. Spectators also have the added perk of free entry to watch the teams in action.

For all of you hungry gamers, the Kiev Cybersport Arena also boasts an original lay-out with the gaming hall actually decorated to that of the CounterStrike 1.6 map, mp_nuke to give the attendees a different outlook to the usual, boring hall of dribble.

Thankfully the computers specs which include periphials have also been released. They have got themselves hold of 200 powerful PC's equipped with Razer DeathAdder mouses, Razer Goliathus mouse mat and Razer Carcharias headphones. The graphics cards Radeon HD 5670 with 4GB Kingston DDR3 RAM, topped with an Intel Core i5 processor and ASUS VH226 monitors.

The prize-purse has been set at a minimum of €3,000 although with every team that does pay atleast half of the entrance fee will go towards increasing this if the organizers think it will help attract overseas rosters. Meaning that if they manage to fill their limit of 32 their could be a possible €6,200 up for grabs, although as stated, this is only if the management behind the event see it as a worth while thing to do.
